It was in the darkness of the night,
The sky was cloudy, the thunder roared,
And the wind blew so bitterly that his clothes could only keep him a little warm,
He had suffered a long arduous journey on the stoney roads of the world,
Seasons had changed and the birds migrated,
Much time has passed and it all seemed so sudden like an endless struggle from day to day,
Empires have risen and fallen,
Leaders have appeared and disappeared,
Wars have been fought,
Much blood has been shed,
Insurgents have contributed their parts,
And frontiers have been redefined,
Illnesses have been overcome,
Too much conformity he disliked,
He was tired of all these days of burden,
And unexpectedly appeared,
In this brief moment, in the scale of the universe,
So thirsty for better times that are as clear and good as basic human rights,
In his bright eyes I saw how deeply he cared,
And thus I curiously started listening to him,
Then he told me and it was in the darkness of the night,
The sky was cloudy and the thunder roared,
When I felt myself with him and so we held hands tenderly,
He gave me cause, a cause was his, and this tear,
This little drop of salty water that nursed his thirst,
Became a part of my heart,
He gave me a human right I could grasp by thought!
